Today’s Sermon:

Redreaming the Dream

Proverbs 29:18

By Dr. Bill Henard

The challenge before us in Scripture is to find the dream that God has for our church.  Sometimes we’ve lost our dream – the vision that God wants to fulfill. Here’s the kind of vision God wants for us.

  • It is a Vision That Originates From the Word of God.
      • 29:18 Where there is no vision

  • It is a Vision That Demands Our Personal Involvement.
      • 29:18 but he who keeps the law

  • It is a Vision That Results in Great Achievement.
      • 29:18 happy is he

Takeaway: If a church has no vision, it perishes. How can you be a part of God’s vision for First Baptist?

This Week:

  • Fall Festival is Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30—7:30 pm. Candy collection has begun—drop off your donations in the Atrium.

  • We are in need of 4 pop-up canopies for Fall Festival. If you have one we can use, please contact Karen Ellis. There are also sign-up sheets in the Atrium for those willing to help with food, registration, security and set-up. We need you! (And more candy!)

  • Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are now available in the Atrium. Please turn in your boxes (along with a check for shipping cost) by Wednesday, November 20th. If you have any questions, please contact Rodney Dunn at 423-368-4634.

Next Week:

  • Missions week is coming up November 3th – 10th. Our Missions Committee is promoting a weeklong emphasis with our local mission partners. We are encouraging members of our church to find an opportunity to serve with our mission partners from our missions opportunity list in the atrium. There are several opportunities to serve, so be sure to check the list in the Atrium! If you have any questions about serving, feel free to contact Pastor Drew or Melonie Carideo.
