Today’s Sermon:

Personal Goals for the New Year

Philippians 3:4-10

By Dr. Bill Henard

First Thoughts: Although Paul was not particularly speaking about New Year’s resolutions, he was resolved to achieve 4 things in his life – 4 goals that would be outstanding personal, spiritual achievements for all of us.  This year, we need to experience . . .

  • The Intimacy of Christ’s Presence.
      • v. 3:10 My goal is to know Him

  • The Outpouring of Christ’s Power.
      • v. 3:10 and the power of His resurrection

  • The Fellowship of Christ’s Passion.
      • v. 3:10 and the fellowship of His sufferings

  • The Character of Christ’s Person.
      • v. 3:10 being conformed to His death

Takeaway: What are some areas where you could start over this new year? What steps do you need to take so that you would know Christ and His power this year?
