Today’s Sermon:

Identity: From Death to New Life

by:  Dr. Bill Henard

Ephesians 2:8-10

First Thoughts: When we come to Christ through faith, He moves us out of certain spiritual death into new life. This new life, however, is not something that we earn. It is solely a gift from God. Here’s why God brings us out of death into new life.

  • It Demonstrates God’s Grace to Us.
    • 2:8 For you are saved by grace through faith

Three important words to learn:

      1. Grace
      2. Saved
      3. Faith

  • It Develops Good Works.
    • 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works

Takeaway:

Take these actions steps this week:

  • Walk through your salvation experience – where do you see grace, faith, and works?
  • What steps do you need to take to be more secure in your salvation and in being in Christ?
  • To what good works has God appointed you? How can you begin applying and acting upon the work that God has for you this week?

Live out your faith as one who has been taken out of death and brought into new life. Don’t live your life for what you used to be. Live now for who you are in Christ.
