Weekly Update 9.1.2020

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The Lord has been so good to us as we are moving toward Fall. The work of the ministry continues as we look toward cooler weather, more time with the church family, and welcoming visitors here as we worship together. Here are a few things that will be helpful for you as the week progresses.

Sunday school is starting back on Sunday, September 13th at 10:45 am. This change will give more flexibility to our classes as well as provide a new, fresh feel to our discipleship model. Some other new things you will notice immediately is a new curriculum for every class so we can all be on the same page moving forward. We are starting a few new classes as well to help meet needs. If you would like more information on Sunday school and how to get involved in a group, please email me, Pastor Joe, at joe@fbcathens.com.
Our Wednesday Night programming returns Wednesday, September 16th. Dinner (5 pm), Kids programming (5:30 pm Kids sing with Cross training to follow at 6 pm) and , and Adult Bible Study (6 pm) will be added back to our schedule. Students and Adult Choir meet at 6 pm also. We are SO ready for this season to return. Our church family has missed gathering together! Thankful to God that this time is here! Come ready to fellowship and dig into the Word of God together.
Finally, I want to encourage you from the Word. The Gospel of John pictures Christ coming to the world in his prologue. While there are so many things we can think about while we read this passage, I just want to give it to you to encourage your heart. John 1:10-13: He was in the world, and the world was created through him, and yet the world did not recognize him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, he gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in his name, who were born, not of natural descent, or of the will of the flesh, or of the will of man, but of God. WOW! I hope you feel blessed this week. See you Sunday!
Blessings,
Joe Delph
